Intralinks
When IntraLinks, Inc. migrated from Microsoft Dynamics
GP to a Tier 1 application, they missed the user-friendly
solution. Just one year later, they were back with Microsoft
Dynamics, this time upgrading to the more powerful, upgraded
version.
Since 1996, IntraLinks has enabled Global 1000 companies
to bring B2B collaboration online. IntraLinks' secure services
enable instant and organized sharing of business-critical
information among communities of professionals, their external
partners and advisors to empower business professionals
to produce more with less.
Over 100 financial services-pharmaceutical and professional
services companies as well as government entities-have subscribed
to the IntraLinks service. To date, IntraLinks' customers
have used more than 10,000 'Digital Workspaces' to streamline
projects, deals, and transactions.
Adventures in Software
As a Microsoft Dynamics GP user, the growing company was
becoming more complex. Because of this growth and complexity,
IntraLinks began an evaluation of their business solution
and decided they wanted a more powerful, higher-end solution
than Microsoft Dynamics GP. After a review of multiple solutions,
they decided to migrate to a well-known Tier 1 application.
The implementation of the Tier 1 application caused a slowdown
for the entire company. The posting of cash receipts was
taking days, and month-end closings were difficult to complete.
One of the main reasons IntraLinks had looked to a new solution
was its financial reporting needs. However, financial reports
weren't being completed, causing considerable concern for
IntraLinks employees who needed to make critical decisions
based on the companies' finances.
The staff at IntraLinks was accustomed to the Microsoft
Dynamics GP ease of operation and quickly became frustrated.
The competing Tier 1 system was so complex that only one
IntraLinks employee had the experience and knowledge to
run it. If that one person had left, no one would have been
able to operate and manage the application.
Cutting their Losses
Company-wide frustration sent IntraLinks looking for a new
solution after just one year. Remembering their successful
experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP, IntraLinks went back
to their Microsoft Dynamics Reselling Partner, InterDyn
, to investigate a solution like the one they had previously
used.
Although IntraLinks had been very happy with their experience
with Microsoft Dynamics GP, their increasingly complex business
needed a solution with more functionality. Together with
InterDyn, IntraLinks decided they needed the power and
flexibility of the upgraded Microsoft Dynamics GP solution
to meet the demands of their business.
The Microsoft Dynamics GP Experience
Because of the expertise of InterDyn, implementation
was completed in just two months. This was an extraordinary
feat, considering the implementation to the Tier 1 application
took much longer, resulting in unneeded costs and inconveniences
to IntraLinks.
The implementation process was smooth-IntraLinks did not
lose functionality in the migration. Instead, they gained
an intuitive system usable by more employees with less technical
backgrounds.
IntraLinks was able to get Microsoft Dynamics GP up and
running for approximately $100,000, including software purchase
and implementation, versus a multi-year lease for the Tier
1 application costing over ten times that, a significant
cost.

With Microsoft Dynamics GP, IntraLinks benefits with increased
profits and increased revenue, due to increased efficiency.
